Logistics: How the Mobile Service Works

Do I need to bring my vehicle to you?

No. DAS DETAIL is a fully mobile service. We bring the equipment, the expertise, and the results to your home or workplace.

What do you need from me on the day?

To perform our magic, we simply need access to a standard electrical socket and a mains water tap. We carry extension leads and hoses to reach your vehicle comfortably.

Can I book if I don't have a driveway?

Possibly. If you have nearby parking where we can safely work and access to water/power, we can usually make it happen. Just drop us a message to confirm your setup before booking.

Do I need to be present during the detail?

Not at all. As long as we have access to the vehicle and our power/water points, you can go about your day. We'll notify you when we're done.

What happens if it rains?

Interior work is unaffected. For exterior work, we can usually manage light rain. However, if the weather is heavy or persistent, we may reschedule to ensure we can meet our high quality standards.

Which areas do you cover?

Our core area is Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, with selected coverage in West Suffolk and South Lincolnshire. Travel further afield may be possible by arrangement.

Can you detail my car at my office or a public car park?

Yes, provided we have permission from the landowner and access to our required water and power points.

Will extraction remove every single stain?

Extraction provides a massive improvement in hygiene and appearance. While most stains are removed, success depends on the type of stain and how long it's been there. We aim for the maximum safe improvement without damaging your upholstery.

Do you clean heavily soiled cars or pet hair?

Yes. However, excessive mould or ingrained pet hair requires extra time and specialised tools. A surcharge may apply — please let us know in advance so we can book enough time.

Do you work on EVs, Hybrids, or Classics?

Absolutely. We are experienced in modern high-tech interiors and sensitive components. For classic cars, we adjust our methods to use gentler techniques suitable for vintage materials.

Do you clean engine bays?

To maintain our focus on high-end interior and exterior recovery, we do not offer engine bay cleaning as part of our mobile service.

Are the products you use safe?

Yes. We use professional-grade, hand-selected products. We use pH-neutral or acid-free cleaners to ensure your wheels and paintwork are never damaged. Where possible, we prioritise biodegradable formulations.

Can you remove mould or mildew from my interior?

In many cases, yes. Our triple-extraction method tackles deep-seated bacteria. Mould removal is a specialist task, so please advise us in advance for an assessment.

Can children or pets be near the vehicle while you are working?

For safety reasons, we require that children and pets remain away from the immediate working area while we are detailing. We use professional-grade machinery, high-pressure water, and electrical cables. Keeping the area clear ensures everyone stays safe and allows us to focus on delivering the best results for your vehicle.

What is the difference between Precision Lite and the Precision detail?

Precision Lite is designed for vehicles that simply need a thorough refresh. It is a shorter, fixed-scope option that provides a high-standard professional clean in less time — perfect for cars that need a "lift" but don't require deep recovery.

Precision is our deeper "recovery" service. It involves significantly more time, more stages, and a higher level of refinement. This package is designed to deliver a visible transformation, providing deep cleaning and restoration inside and out.

What is the "Precision Showroom" package?

This is our flagship, 10–13 hour service designed for the ultimate pamper or resale preparation. It includes full extraction, glass rain repellent, and 20 professional photographs to help you sell.

How long does a detail take?

Precision Lite (2–3 hours), Precision (6–8 hours), Precision Showroom (up to 13 hours). Times vary based on your vehicle's condition.

How long does your ceramic protection last?

Our ceramic-based spray coating typically lasts around 3 months. It improves gloss, helps water bead off, and makes your maintenance washes much easier.

Do you offer permanent ceramic coatings or paint correction?

We focus on cleaning, decontamination, and high-quality short-to-medium term protection. We do not offer multi-day machine paint correction or permanent coatings.

Do you offer gift vouchers or fleet discounts?

Yes! We can offer digital vouchers for all packages. We also offer bespoke pricing for fleets or multi-car bookings at the same location.

Should I empty my car before you arrive?

Yes, please. Removing personal items, car seats, and loose change from the boot and cabin ensures we can spend our time cleaning every corner rather than tidying.

Will my seats be wet after an extraction clean?

Our professional-grade machines suck out about 90% of the moisture. Seats will be slightly damp but usually dry within a few hours. We recommend leaving a window cracked slightly to assist drying.

Can I drive the car immediately after you finish?

Absolutely. The car is fully safe to drive the moment we hand you the keys.

Valeting is generally a quick surface clean or wash to make a car look tidy. Mobile car detailing is a much more intensive, restorative process. How do I maintain my car between professional details?

To keep your car looking its best, we recommend a "two-bucket" hand wash method using a pH-neutral shampoo. We advise against using automatic brush washes, as these can strip the protection we've applied and cause "swirl marks" on your paintwork.

What are the benefits of rain repellent on glass?

Our rain repellent treatment (included in the Precision Showroom package) causes water to bead and fly off the windscreen while you drive. This significantly improves visibility and safety during heavy rain and night driving, as well as making it easier to remove frost in the winter.

Why don't you have fixed prices on the website?

No two cars are in the same condition. We provide guide prices, but every final quote is bespoke to ensure you only pay for the work your specific vehicle requires.

Are you insured?

Yes. We are fully insured for public liability and vehicle treatment risk, giving you total peace of mind.

When and how do I pay?

Payment is due immediately upon completion. We accept Bank Transfer or Cash. We do not offer delayed payment terms or invoicing.

Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?

We walk you around the vehicle at the end of every job to ensure you are thrilled with the results before we take payment. If something isn't right, we fix it on the spot.
